Loan Calculator Pro costs $0.99 and does a good job of instantly showing you the loan payment. Keep track of mortgage payments, credit card payments or student loans. You specify amount, length and interest rate of the loan and the app instantly shows the payment. A quick tab over allows you to see the schedule of payments. Another tab allows you to save or email your information. It’s a very easy way to keep track or calculate mortgages or student loans, but you can get this for free at many websites so I really can’t recommend it, but hey its less than a buck. Hey, I wasn’t able to add any full seasons this week, but I went with a theme I think you’re gonna like . . . BLOOD!! I have added the first 3 episodes from the first season of True Blood (hey they just started season 2) and the first three from the third season of Dexter. Both these shows I highly recommend – espeically Dexter. However, if you want to wait, I should be getting the first seaon of Dexter and you can start from there which will make more sense. Anyway, leave some comments here on whether you want me to focus on finishing True Blood, Season 3 of Dexter, Season 1 of Dexter or something else entirely.

I had the full 6th Season of South Park as requested and them my computer crashed and I lost almost all of it – I put up a few of the episodes from that season and I hope to fill in the rest soon. Lastly, check back in a day or two and I will have added a couple espisodes of Lincoln Heights.

OK, since very few people watched last weeks app review and no one has requested a new app to be reviewed for the iPhone I thought I’d show you guys a website not too many know about that gives away a lot of FREE stuff. Swagbucks.com is a search engine that essentially pays you to use it by giving you swagbucks (money that you use to buy things in their store). Swagbucks uses google and ask.com for their searches so you are getting a good search engine. Every so often you receive a few bucks for using it. They also hide codes on their site that earns you a few swagbucks. Their Facebook page which you easily find by clicking on it from swagbucks.com home page is probably the best way to get up to speed. Any question you have is answered in less than 15 minutes. Lastly, the best way to earn a lot of swagbucks is by referring other people because you get a match on the first 100 swagbucks they earn. iPhone 3.0, just over 230MB, is now available via iTunes. I’m sure Apple’s servers are slammed, but you’ll want to get this as soon as possible (assuming you haven’t jailbroken your phone). Why you ask, mainly for Spotlight and Voice Control.

Spotlight is a launcher similar to Quickgold. Basically, it makes finding things on the phone a LOT easier. Spotlight searches through contact names, app names, iPod media file names, Email headers (from, to, and subject), and Calendar event names. To find Spotlight you just swipe from left to right on your phone. Just start typeing and see what comes up. My guess is you’ll use it all the time.

Voice Control Commands include: call/dial [contact name], call [contact telephone number], play [playlist name, album name, artist name, song name], what [song, group] is this, play more songs like this (creates Genius playlist), shuffle. I haven’t tried this yet, but it should work fairly well since its really only for calling or playing music.

Also, once ATT starts to support it, your SMS (text messaging) will be able to support pictures and audio attachments. ATT says it will start later this summer but we’ll see as this will tax their already troubled network some more. For a really great detailed writeup of OS 3.0 go here

So, if you noticed, I updated the About page to explain that going forward we will add movies, TV shows and app reviews at least once per week! So today is App Review Thursday and since only iphoneido has placed a request, I will honor it and review EA Scrabble along with World Cup Ping Pong. BTW, iphoneido was the second person to buy me a beer so her request would have moved to the top of the list anyway (hint hint).
