Verizon iPhone Pre-Orders Start Tommorow

Verizon
Just a reminder that existing Verizon iPhone customers can pre-order an iPhone 4 starting February 3rd at 3am. On Wednesday February 9, all customers can order a CDMA iPhone 4 for delivery or in store pickup on February 10. They’ll be available at Apple retail stores, Verizon Wireless stores and Best Buy on the 10th. ATT sent an email today to its iPhone users reminding them that you can not make a call while reading the email on a Verizon iPhone. If you don’t know the differences between the ATT (GSM) iPhone 4 and the Verizon (CDMA) iPhone 4 see my breakdown here. While its primarily a phone the sound quality and number of dropped calls really depend on where you live. ATT works fine in Nashville. What’s more interesting to me is which has the better feature. Would you rather have a Verizon iPhone that offers a personal hotspot or an ATT iPhone where you can use voice and data at the same time? That is my new poll question. Given equal voice quality and dropped calls which iPhone would you rather have? For me the answer is simple because I jailbreak and MyWi is a cheaper personal hotspot option. Not being able to use the internet while I’m on the phone would be a huge annoying problem. Thus, my vote is for ATT and why I think not that many people will switch to Verizon. Then again, I may be underestimating how bad ATT service is in some cities.

iBooks – Must Have App 4 iPad

iBooks
I’ve mentioned before that I pretty much gave up reading when my first child was born six years ago. I’m sure I’ll start again one day as Pat Conroy or Malcolm Gladwell are too interesting and enjoyable to shelve forever. I finally added iBooks to my iPhone to check it out. Now its not bad, but reading is really for the iPad (iPad 2.0 can’t get here fast enough) due to the larger screen. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed exploring what iBooks can and can’t do. After reading a few reviews I found this one to be the most informative. So check it out and then come back here for my thoughts and opinions.
