As pointed out by torrentfreak.com, Megaupload’s DNS is being shown as belonging to Google. This makes little sense, but can happen if the registrar doubts to true ownership of a website. Given how big Megaupload is and how long they’ve been around I can’t see why this would have happened. Something similar happened in 2009 to Megavideo. They eventually worked out the problem and everything went back to normal.

If Megaupload isn’t working for you and you can’t wait there are two potential fixes. The easiest is try to use the actual IP address as the url. Try http://174.140.154.23/ as the url and some claim that will work. If that doesn’t work you can try and use Google’s Public DNS. More complicated, but not bad. Of course you can just wait as well.

I feel sorry for Neflix shareholders. The company stock has dropped from 300 to 70 and they are claiming they won’t make money in 2012. What the heck are they doing? OK, you want to change your business to streaming because that is the future fine. But don’t piss your 20 million customers off. Read Rene Ritchie’s recent experience and I have no confidence they won’t lose more customers. This is a shame cause I really think the stock is cheap now, but new management is badly needed.

Wish the guys at Redbox could take over. They really know customer service and smart marketing. It’s why I’m watching a DVD from them later today!

However, I will not be going back to anything else and replacing those links until either a DVDrip comes out or the website gets some donations. Anyone who as previously donated, DON”T DO IT AGAIN. I want to reward those who donate or make comments on posts or in the Forum. That’s how you help the site. Someone like Mordi is exempt whether or not he’s donated because he’s adding to the website. Anyone who falls into this category please feel free to make any requests you want and I’ll do my best to address them. I know the vast majority of users are leeches and I really don’t have a problem with that. I’m a huge leech myself. Just don’t bother asking about FileServe links anymore. I have addressed it.

Also, I would love some suggestions for videos or articles you would like to see. Would you like one on adding sources for cracked apps? Would you like to hear my thoughts on NetFlix’s pricing increase announcement? I would appreciate comments and feedback. That’s one way to become a “made” member of this website without having to donate a penny!

A Virgina lawfirm called Dunlap, Grubb & Weaver founded The U.S. Copyright Group as a way to make money going after BitTorrent users. Let’s be clear here that it is a money grab. They have little interest in stopping copyright infringement. They just want to profit from it. Their first attempt was against about 15,000 people that downloaded The Hurt Locker. The lawyers get a judge to sign off on class action status and they subpena Internet Service Providers to provide names and addresses of IP addresses that their snoop software found downloading the file. Once they have these they essentially send off a form letter saying you could be sued for $150,000 but you can settle quick for $3000. To me this is intimidation that is little different than extortion. If only 10% of the those sued settle that’s a quick $4.5 million for sending off a letter. Luckily the judge in this first case ruled he only had jurisdiciton in the county in Virigina where the case was brought. Thus, the 15,000 people were reduced to just over 100. The bad news is the lawfirm has partnered with 15 other firms to try and prosicute as many as they can. Their latest move came last week as 23,000 people whom downloaded The Expendables are receiving the threat letters. My advice if you get one of these letters – throw it away. I’m not a lawyer so that’s probably bad advice, but until they start taking people to court I wouldn’t be too concerned.

The ironic thing is that as bad as The Expendables was someone should counter sue for time wasted watching that terrible flick.

YouTube needs to offer content people can’t get elsewhere. Every professional sporting event should be available for purchase. Maybe one day. In the meantime at mostly $2.99 and $3.99 per rental, I see YouTube movie rentals being a huge fail.
